Fantastic savings for the Transponder key! Q

I was kind of caught off guard by the cost of getting extra keys. My base model (no electric windows, manual transmission, no Navigation, etc, ) actually had 'smart' keys? The dealer owed me a key (they couldn't find the 2nd one for the NEW car), and griped that it would cost them a bunch of money to replace (not my problem in any case). By the time they got around to it, my 'test' purchase of these blanks had arrived. I took to my local h/w store that doesnt' carry this model key, they cut the 2 keys for me, and I followed the easy process to program the new blanks to my car. Took 2 minutes, both new keys were programmed! Was absolutey thrilled to have this VERY economical solution to the spare key dilema. Needless to say, I ordered two more right away!
