Product Description

HIGH SECURITY 'CHIP KEY' - By now, most people know their vehicle's high-tech keys are expensive at the car dealers- Now, you can get high-tech keys from us at a fraction of the cost. How does the high-tech key work? The key contains a tiny embedded electronic chip called a transponder. Each transponder has its own unique code--it's the key's 'fingerprint'. When the key is inserted into the ignition and turned, the transponder is energized and broadcasts its unique code to the car's receiver in the dashboard. If the car's receiver recognizes the code, it will allow the car to start.

4Works as advertised
By Doug H
Although this key (black plastic section) is slightly larger than an OEM key & the transponder chip is hidden behind a little plastic square plug on the key which can be removed (OEW has chip molded into the plastic w/no way to remove), the locksmith was able to program the key and it does work as advertised.

This does have to be programmed by a person with the correct equipment to do so and a 4 digit pin is needed to do this. If you do not have the 4 digit pin, the qualified person would need to reset this on your vehicle to get it and reprogram all keys with this code. NOTE-Keep this code, once provided, or the reset procedure will need to be redone if another key needs to be programmed.
