HIGH SECURITY 'CHIP KEY' - By now, most people know their vehicle's high-tech keys are expensive at the car dealers- Now, you can get high-tech keys from us at a fraction of the cost. How does the high-tech key work? The key contains a tiny embedded electronic chip called a transponder. Each transponder has its own unique code--it's the key's 'fingerprint'. When the key is inserted into the ignition and turned, the transponder is energized and broadcasts its unique code to the car's receiver in the dashboard. If the car's receiver recognizes the code, it will allow the car to start.

Worked great, but with some notes...

OK, so it worked great in the end, but it was a little inconvenient getting everything set up.

I called three chain-hardware stores in my area. The first two said they can't cut the key and the third said they could cut a mustang key, but that they can only cut the ones they sell. At $60 each. So that was a no-go.

The fourth place I called was a local locksmith. They were more then happy to cut the key for me. Cost $2 and took under 5 min.

The process to program the key was quick and worked fine. Please note: You will need two other working keys to program a new one. If you don't have two working keys you will need to take your car to the dealership and that can get a bit pricey. I recommend getting a third key set up ASAP if you haven't done so already. $12 now is cheaper then $300 later.
